Valma Klein has over 22 years of diversified global experience in the Class III medical device industry. Since 2013, she serves as the Director of Clinical Affairs at the Alfred Mann Foundation (AMF) for Scientific Research, a non-profit organization founded in 1985 by Alfred E. Mann. For over 30 years, AMF has been focused on bringing new technology to market for some of the most challenging medical problems including limb loss, movement disorders, diabetes and chronic pain. Valma Klein began her career in France, as a Field Clinical Engineering Manager for Telectronics Pacing Systems Europe, supporting Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) implants and clinical trials in Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa. After St. Jude Medical acquired Telectronics, she continued to support pacemaker and ICD clinical studies and was instrumental to the successful introduction of innovative products in Europe. After 6 years of field clinical engineering experience, she relocated to the U.S to work for St Jude Medical's Cardiac Rhythm Management Division (CRMD), with the desire to design and develop clinical studies. In her new role, she effectively managed US/OUS clinical trials and clinical teams for Cardiovascular Class III IDE and non-IDE products, ensuring customer satisfaction, study quality and research safety. Valma remained committed to providing clinical perspective towards the development of implantable devices and programmer software, while successfully executing multiple and high profile clinical studies. At the Alfred Mann Foundation, Valma Klein oversees all preclinical and clinical activities. She works with scientists and engineers, joining them in their mission to develop and commercialize innovative solutions for significant unmet medical conditions. Valma Klein holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University.
